So, I started at the absolute beginning when I was 11. I’d enjoyed drawing since I was a vey young age, but around the age of 11, I became more serious about my art.
This is one of my pieces from then:
As I continued to draw more and more, I continued to improve. I started to look at pictures to draw so that I could understand more about shading and such.
These were done right before I turned twelve:
At this point, I started my art account on instagram ( @sarahddiana ). I bought some prismacolor colored pencils and started to do more colored pieces and also doing some Disney art:
I then worked on a lot of more portraits and got much better on them after years of practice!
This was done when I was twelve:
And then I did this when I was thirteen:
Already, you can see the improvement from my earliest stuff. And, I got really good at doing Disney art. At this point, I began doing a lot of drawings every week, so I began to improve pretty quickly. These are also from when I was 13:
When I was fourteen, I didn't have as much time to draw, and so I only drew easier stuff like Disney, and I also doodled a lot.
I then took about an 8 month break from drawing. I was really busy with school stuff and I just didn't feel motivated to draw.
When I was 15, I started to draw again:
And, even though I hadn't been drawing much, I hadn't un-improved or anything.
Since then, I've still been busy, and I haven't had as much time for drawing. But, I've still done a few pieces and have started a few more:
I'm now 16, and leave in 8 days to go to college to study art education.
Through all of my drawing, I've been self taught. I've never been in an art class ever. It's been through a lot of practice that I've been able to improve my art.
( please ignore the bad photo quality and the watermarks on the older art. I packed up all of my old art to bring to college, so I couldn't get recent pictures of it. So, I had to get all of the pictures from my instagram account (@sarahddiana ) and also my Facebook. )
Hope you like my art!
