I've learned the hard way these lessons:
- Develop the discipline to LISTEN
- We don't know everything
- As a teenager I had big issues with the know-it-all complex.
- Notice I say discipline because we must fight it… we can hear for advice and quickly dismiss it because we think we know better.
- Ignoring this principle may crush your entrepreneurial dreams.
- Continuous lifetime learning attitude
- When I got out of College I promised myself I would never study again in my life… mistake!
- Read… there's unimaginable value in every book… It took me years to develop the habit of reading, I currently read 1 or 2 books per month but my goal is to read 1 book per week… start now.
- Attend live seminars focused on your areas of interest.
- Develop the discipline of ASKING for help
- Pride will crush you… be humble and ask
- It's the biggest shortcut you can ever find to solve problems.
- Why figure things out investing hundreds of hours if you can get an answer in minutes? Get pride away of your life.
- I've always been surprised how generous people are when we ask
- Find coaches and mentors
- Get started ASAP
- You will never find the ‘perfect’ time to get started…
- Fear of failure is your worst enemy to get started
- Entrepreneurship is difficult to study… its a way of life… and its ONLY mastered through real life experience…
- There are no shortcuts… get started now. -Hector Quintanilla
