‘If you marry him, you will have to pass through our dead bodies'

‘If you marry him, you will have to pass through our dead bodies'

This one sentence ruined her life. Her world came to a stand still, she was stuck in a deep dilemma which made her life nothing but a tale of misery.

She couldn't think what to do next, whom to ditch and how to face life any further.

She was now left with only four options-

Leave her parents and be dead for them, the same people whom she loves by heart.

Leave her parents and they will commit suicide, leaving her with a life long guilt and unbearable pain.

Dump her lover, betray his trust, ruin her life, destroy all her dreams and plans, and survive with a feeling of regret and severe depression.

Commit suicide.

What exactly is her fault?

Why did her parents put her in such a worse situation?

The harsh but true answer is that their love for her is smaller than their fear of society.

Society will make fun, boycott them and insult them. And they are ready to compromise their child's life long happiness to not face all this.

Also they conveniently assume that somehow their son/daughter will get over all this very soon.

How can you call yourself parents when you can't even fight the society for your kid's happiness?

The same society which is the first one to boycott or make fun of you in any misery.

I am sorry but parents who have done this with their child, or planning to do it are no better than the ones who stranded their new born child.

If you are a parent, please stand for your children and support them.

If you are a child, please take blackmailing from no-one, even if it's your parents.
